Caturday felid trifecta: The world’s most beautiful cat, cat befriends bear, sloth hugs cat

According to Gazetman (and it’s hard to disagree), this is the most beautiful domestic cat in the world. His name is Thor, and he’s owned by a Belgian woman, Rani Cucicov.

As you can tell from his markings, Thor is a Bengal.

You can see more pictures of him on his Instagram page.

Here’s a three-minute video showing a friendship between a semi-feral cat and an orphaned grizzly bear at the Wildlife Images rehabilitation center in Oregon. Apparently the friendship was long lasting.

Finally, a three-toed sloth (Bradypus sp.) pets a cat, though the cat doesn’t look immensely pleased.

  1. 1. most beautiful domestic cat in the world – yes.

    2. Griz clearly thinks Tabby is a cub.

    3. Sloth thinks cat needs a “do” with an afro pick.

  2. The World’s Most Beautiful Cat – yeah, right, let’s see this. (Scroll down) Holy Cow! (you should excuse the expression) Thor is like the Elizabeth Taylor of Cats!

  3. Everyone thinks their cat is the most beautiful. Of course if you don’t have one…too bad.

  4. Jesus, I roll my eyes everytime I see a cat post…but now…I kind of want to steal that cat.

  5. This is a beautiful cat & watch the videos. There’s a sloth as well!

  6. Yep, pretty difficult to disagree with Gazetman on Thor’s beauty, and Rani’s pretty lovely too! I’d be pretty wary of being “petted” with 3 long claws too but it’s amusing to watch! Do sloths pet one another?

  7. The cat and the bear was so very sweet it gave me diabetes.

Jerry, how will you be paying for my treatments? It is your fault after all.

  8. Those cats do have beautiful coats, but I’m reminded of the thesis of John Bradshaw’s “Cat Sense,” which is that there is a tremendous world-wide selection of cats for the wrong traits. Breeders breed for exotic features, such as those gorgeous coats, and domestic cats are spayed an neutered, so the cats that do reproduce tend to be strays or feral – cats with independent streaks rather than ones selected for their friendly personalities. With that in mind, I have a hard time getting behind cat show breeders.
