Today’s Jesus and Mo strip, called “track,” came with this email message:
The Regressive Left is a useful term coined by Maajid Nawaz: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regressive_left
No comment is needed here, but I’ll give one link that demonstrates the problem.

The article linked to in the post is written by one SEATTLE4TRUTH. While the criticism of the Goldsmith feminist society certainly has merit, I find the author of the article almost as contemptible as the people he or she criticizes. The author writes this sentence: “Hell, we all know that in the West, feminism is a pointless shit-show with nothing but man-hating and authoritarian whiners.” The author also uses the term “’feminist’ cunts” to refer to the women he or she doesn’t like.
This person is the last one I would call upon to advocate for freedom of speech or any other cause. Of course, the author can write whatever he or she wants. But this article will turn off people who otherwise might be sympathetic to the basic argument. I also found the tenor of the comments to this article disgusting as well.
You’re absolutely right and I’ve changed the link. I didn’t read it carefully (not beyond the first sentence, which showed the issue), and had I done so I wouldn’t have used it. I changed the link to one I wrote about the issue.
My apologies for carelessness and any offense.
Just a second – aren’t they all Semites? Jeebus, Mo and Moses?
I’m pretty sure that Jeebus and Moses are related … though I’d have to research the depths of the BileFul to find out (it’s probably a catechism question somewhere, for someone with more Google-fu than me). Did Mo (the original not the Artist’s body double), ever claim descent from some biblical bod?
Muslims claim Muhammad is descended from Ishmael (Abraham) via his slave Hagar who he kicked out with her son by him. Christians deny this. They say Muhammad’s tribal ancestry doesn’t fit with that in Genesis given for Hagar and her son – the locations of where they lived are too far apart.
Oh yes, I’d forgotten the Abraham connection – in the unreality of religious reality.
Ishmael is the name of Hagar’s son. Abraham is the father of Ishmael.
[Checks wikipedia] No, Hamlet is Hagar’s son. Honi is his daughter … oh, THAT Hagar.
Ha! Very funny!
Despite being syndicated to the Scum (lowest of the Augean stable of Murdoch publications in Britain), I do have to admit that Hagar is actually quite funny (in parts) too.
Trying an experiment, here…
Well, that didn’t work. I was trying to copy and paste a picture of Hagar the Horrible, sword raised, shield shot full of arrows, smile hiding in that red beard which sits below his viking helmet.
We were watching a programme about Up Helly Aa about the time you were writing that. Seems appropriate for a “theatrical viking”, not an archaeological one. Even the wife could feel the temptation.
Nice one, although that’s Hägar, not Hagar. A slight difference you’d better recall when facing Hägar. I heard he doesn’t care about the excuse of not having an ä on your keyboard.
(He doesn’t care about keys at all, he busts locks for a living.)
That was too spot on!
I was already grinning at the 2nd panel because I knew where this was going.
The sad thing is that this is true. I have seen the RL only lightly mention in passing how they abhor the perfidies of the Islamic world toward women and others, before excoriating the Muslims and former Muslims who criticize the Islamic world.
Contrary to many of these, there is no room for ambiguity here. Hits the proverbial nail.
Excellent!
The Link named https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regressive_left actually links to https://xmail.uchicago.edu/owa/redir.aspx?C=VccKKwrAbEWcJyW9_Cg1QWYWnikPttMICRC2ABre-97D39HZG88M1Xrqd_ucIeqN4q7KCIJiRS8.&URL=https%3a%2f%2fen.wikipedia.org%2fwiki%2fRegressive_left
Hate to nitpick (well, actually, can’t resist it 🙂 but doesn’t Moses rank right up there with Jesus at least, if not with Mo, in his religion’s traditional treatment of women?
(I’m referring to the orthodox of all three denominations here of course)
cr
Actually, Moses got into deep doodoo with The Great Invisible, Imaginary Sky Daddy over not circumcising his son in a timely manner. The GIISD was about to wipe him out when his wife, the Midianite he married while in hiding in the desert from his royal Egyptian foster family, had to do the job just to save her husband’s life.
Why moels (ritual circumcising Jews) seem to all be men, now, instead of women makes no sense to me at all.
But, other than that, I sort of understood Moses to be a totally believing puppet of The GIISD. That leaves the blame for misogyny on you-know-who. Or, maybe you don’t know him. After all, if he’s imaginary, how could you two have ever met?
But then, aren’t Jesus and Mo also puppets of the Great Imaginary Sky Daddy? Which puts them all in the same boat.
I don’t know, I just found Moses criticising Jesus and Mohammed for their attitude to women a bit pot…kettle…black.

I suspect that was the point.
