Wednesday: Hili dialogue

Some big news today: Ammon Bundy and a couple of his thugs have been taken into custody while driving; there was an exchange of gunfire and one thug was killed. Twenty-odd thugs remain at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge. Also, in Canada, they have filmed a fox on Prince Edward Island who steals newspapers regularly (five of them at a time!) from a school. Whether the fox reads them is unknown; it may be using them to line its nest. Click on the screeenshot below to see a video of the thieving Reynard.

Also, at the Vatican, they have spared the tender feelings of visitng Iranian President Rouhani by covering up the nude statues during his visit. Click on the screenshot below to see the story:

  1. Covering up Nude Statues so as not to offend the Iranian President ? I’d have Pole Dancers in every room.lol

    1. Disrobing nuns? I’d add sleepovers with cardinals, for some cardinal, or is that carnal, knowledge.

    2. So much for the common sentiment that trade (with places like Iran) opens up the country to moderating influences that might update or change for the better, their behaviour.

      They all need to be told to grow up. Nude marble. For Pete’s sake. And what else will be “covered up” to not hurt some child-like adult’s feelings?

      1. Hmm, didn’t some Supreme Court justice order the statue of Justice (lady with blindfold & scales) to be covered up a few years back?

    Must be some good stuff in the news up there on Prince Edward Island.

    1. Oh, the one fellow killed in the arrest was a Mormon Rancher from Arizona and a spokesman for the group who had said he would not be taken alive. Had 11 kids.

      1. LaVoy Finicum. Four of his kids were fosters. Its very sad that anyone had to die, but I can’t disagree with the FBI’s decision to stop the car and arrest them, and at least according to the official reports, Finicum drew and fired on the officers and they responded. We will have to wait and see whether Bundy et al. come out with a different story.

        2. As far as I could tell, the first account came from Bundy who phoned from the police car to say that Finicum was shot with his hands up. At that time the authorities had made no official comment, and still had not commented hours later. Don’t know why the authorities did not say something immediately, before this guy could be turned into a martyr. I just hope there is video. Otherwise more nutcases will get all fired up and endless mischief will ensue.

            The FBI would have been incredibly stupid not to have their own vid cams running…

  6. Foxes steal everything. A family friend used to have to wait until spring, when the snow melted, to go get his stuff back (bowls and what have you) that the local fox purloined.

  7. I wonder why the Vatican didn’t just put the statues into burkahs. Perfect clothing for saving blushes.
    I really need to give the sewer a good flush. I was initially thinking about “no peepholes on the statues” … then moved to burkahs. Now I can’t get my mind clean of “peephole burkahs”. What will Google provide?
    Nothing like what I was expecting. Either I’ve found a counter-example of Rule 34, or I have finally plumbed a depth new to the minds of the world. The last idea is slightly worrying.

    1. Trevor Noah had a skit last night about ISIS dating sites (apparently they exist) advertising for “Jihotties”. The suggestion was that Marines dressed in burkhas could present themselves to the lonely men…
