Monday: Hili dialogue

It’s Monday, and I slept restively, so posting will likely be normal in frequency but weak in brainpower! This week most Americans will have a Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, meaning that they’ll be off work from Wednesday through Sunday. Hili, however, won’t have turkey, as Thanksgiving is an American holiday. On this day in 1992, the first smartphone, the IBM Simon, was introduced, and in 1965, atheist and writer Jennifer Michael Hecht was born.  Meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Hili is inflicting Andrzej with her continual cattish dithering about whether to go out or stay in. Why do cats do that? To mess with us?

Hili: Which is more reasonable, to stay at home or to go out?
A: It depends on what you feel like doing.
Hili: That’s what I’m asking about.

  1. I too had disturbed sleep but mainly because some twat in the flat above me drags furniture across the floor at random times in the night!!!!!!! grrrrr…..

  2. Cats are compelled to go out, usually at 30 minute intervals, to freshen their scent-marked territory. Once I found that out, I now say, go on, please do your job. 🙂

    1. Oh when our cat dithers, it’s usually on a windy day. Perhaps he is picking up various conflicting scents more readily on those days. We keep a door stop nearby to use on those occasions.

  3. On this day in 1963, Doctor Who premiered!

    And on the same day three years later, I made my appearance 😀

    1. I should have said yesterday, 22 Nov. 1963, Pres. Kennedy was assassinated. Does every, except James, remember where they were?

    2. I too mark my birth year with the premiere of Dr Who, though my birthday isn’t until next month. However, the first episode didn’t broadcast in NZ until 1968, so I was able to watch it faithfully from the start.

      For my 50th birthday I was given a mounted and framed set of the British stamps produced for the 50th anniversary of Dr Who! 🙂
