I never noticed that on a cat before, and wonder if it’s common enough to be identified as a potential adaptation? It would appear to conflict with crypsis, since eye-spots tend to be, well, eye-catching.

Heading to Midway this morning for three days in your fair city. Been watching the weather and would not have considered it warm the last few days (just less cold). I think I’ll start my warm clothing purchase campaign this afternoon before the place freezes over!
