It totally looks like a hunting dog pose. At dog shows, dogs are posed this way for the judges.
Interestingly, it’s also how conservative wives pose to get selected. Although there’s usually a board with the pedigree information.

Reminds me of me dearly departed Samantha. I MISS that girl!) Same fur, same grey between the ears (if me eyes do not deceive me…)
Of course – Sam had bi-colored eyes (blue / yellow.) Made for interesting flash photography. (Blue eye had a red retina, green for the yellow.)
