A: Hili, what are you doing up there?
Hili: I’m testing if telepathy works.
A: And that means…?
Hili: I’m trying to force you to get out of bed and take care of the cat.
In Polish:
Ja: Hili, co ty tam robisz?
Hili: Sprawdzam czy telepatia działa.
Ja: To znaczy?
Hili: Próbuję was zmusić wzrokiem, żebyście wreszcie wstali z łóżka i zajęli się kotem.

Did Hili’s efforts work?
Yes, they did. I just don’t know if it was telepathy or her pitiful (and very noisy) mieowing that did the trick.
From the intent expression on her face I’d bet on telepathy.
My cat always relied on thug tactics: bouncing on my chest, walking on my face and finally pushing books and coffee mugs on the bedside table onto the floor.
“Thug tactics.” Great word for it!
One of mine, too, becomes a horrible nuisance when his tummy alarm goes off.

All my animals I’ve ever had try telepathy I’m sure. Even guinea pigs will stare at you with their cute little piggy eyes (after a cacophony of “feed me” squeaks).
I always read The Daily Hili with a “certain amount of amusement” but today’s made me laugh pretty hard.
My lesser feline sleeps by my shoulder; in the early morning, her tactic is to sit and stare at the jar of treatz I keep on the headboard, in the hopes of psychokinetically causing the lid to fly off and the jar to rise and pour its treasure onto the bed. Cuddles has, so far, been unsuccessful.
Incidentally, Hili looks like she’s filled out quite a lot. Is that weight gain, or is it just her coat growing as the Polish winter closes in?
I’m afraid we were too generous with cream and other goodis. She gets water to drink now. Maybe some day there will be a chance to make a photo of her reproachful look when she discovers, once again, water in her bowl which in the past contained cream.
I think that Cats think that humans are telepathically dense. It does not seem to occur to them that we may be so deliberately. I once had a cat who would sit in front of the cupboard in which we kept the dry cat food locked and THINK at us – my daughter & I agreed that he could generate headaches. We knew what he wanted, we also knew we needed to ration his intake because he had a tendency toward obesity. He kept trying – patiently – to “send” his message. My present cat doesn’t try to be subtle — he lectures me – loudly – until I behave properly.
