Saturday: Hili dialogue

November 16, 2013 • 4:21 am
I don’t know when Hili finds time to read about Galileo.
Hili: Where is the world heading?
A: From morning towards evening, from evening towards dawn.
Hili: Eppur si muove.

In Polish:
Hili: Ku czemu zmierza świat?
Ja: Od rana ku wieczorowi, od wieczora do świtu.
Hili: Eppur si muove.

  1. Hili: Eppur si muove.

    “Eppurrrrrrr See, movie!” surely?
I’m going to regret this. You need a Somerset accent for it to work, really badly.
“This Gal,`ee’ll lay o’bout ony where.”
That’ll have them swinging from the chandeliers!
Until the balls drop, and land at the same time.
Can I work some academic lynxes into thises postses?
It’s just a phase I’m going through, like inferior Venus.
I can’t find her. Where’d Yu put ‘er?
Can I still haz first post?

    1. (Sorry people, but my night-time minion thinks that he has a punishing sense of humour, so I’m having to limber up for the shift change.)

  2. Oh, and considering the amount of work that Galileo did on the laws of motion on inclined runways … well that’s probably what brought Galileo into the dialogue in the first place.

  3. “Round and round the earth is turning,
    Turning always round to morning,
And from morning round to night.”

From the first album by Libana.
I sing it to my circle-walking cat.

  4. Thank you for choosing to post these gems, and to Hili, Andrzej, and Malgorzata for providing them. Always a bright spot in the day.
