These look like living moggies but are really made of wool. You can see more of them here. Perhaps a reader can translate the Japanese so we can have more information.

Needle felting by a very patient and very accomplished artist. I’ve never seen anything that came close in both size and detail.
That is astonishing.
taxidermist nightmare or wet dream?
Those are so amazing, one must wonder if Japanese taxidermists are pulling the wool over our eyes.
(I’ll get my coat before Jerry’s snake-skin cowboy boot protrudes from my arse.)
Those are amazing!
Uncatty valley?
That put a smile on my face, in constrast to the pictures. –For those wondering: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley .
Interesting link, thanks!
I had seen some really good needle-felted animals on etsy over the years, so I just went there and found these needle-felted yellow peeps for you, JAC. If I am not mistaken, you wrote about your penchant for peeps some time ago.

Chinese, not Japanese.
i want. where to get? please email me. tenk youse velly mulch.
The text of the site is in Chinese, but it does say they’re “Japanese handmade”.
I don’t know Japanese but I googled a little bit. It appears to me that the link you give at the top of your post is just a link to a personal yahoo blog of someone who collects the pictures there. I do not think that is the person who makes them.
I found many many references to “the Japanese felting artist Merino117” on lots of needlfelting websites, but did not find Merino117’s actual website.
Too much time spent on this, altho it gave me a chance to see some excellent current felting! Some really cute things being done out there. Time for me to quit 🙂
I sure hope you get to see those peeps (above).
Is this true, Jerry, or are ewe just spinning a yarn?
Yes, yes, very nice, but do they purr?
I predict that some of these pictures will appear in the next edition of Harun Yahya’s Atlas of Evolution.
If so, it would signal an order of magnitude improvement in the quality of Yahya’s authorship.
I’ve linked below to the source ~ a Japanese blog that takes orders. The blogger writes [according to Google Translate service]that s/he’s the maker:- yayayakonta
Be careful there are d_g pages too !!
BTW to see more & more & more of the work use the “Prev” & “Next” arrows out the bottom of each very long page
You’d have to use real Tootsie Rolls™ in the litter box.
Great at fooling us sight-based humans. Doubt my kitteh would be fooled though. Roll it in catnip, however, and she might not care whether its fake or not.
