Three-month-old clouded leopard cubs

The Evolution meetings have been awesome, full of people, and I’ve yakked so much I haven’t had time to post after the early morning. But here’s a wake-up felid.

Just posted by the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium: two new clouded leopard cubs born on March 6. I posted a video of these two specimens of Neofelis nebulosa the day after they were born, and they’ve now turned into gorgeous young cubs.

  1. I really need to make a trip down to Point Defiance. It’s nice finally living near a lot of very cool things like this. But there’s so much stuff to do around here, we are always running around.

  2. I’ve raised this question before, without response. I saw a program on TV which led me to think that many or all clouded leopard cubs in captivity are hand raised. The guy went to the little shelter where the mother and cubs were and picked up the cubs without reaction from the mother. Are we creating a domesticated species here?
