  1. Wee-wee pads? …

Sorry, but I think this kitty would have been better off dead. Much like my own dysplasia- and arthritis-ridden one.

    Bloody, bleeding-heart vets.

    1. A purring, otherwise healthy and interactive cat would be better off dead???? Stop talking like a god! Kitty deserves to live, no matter how difficult it is for you to think about her handicaps!

We have a partially paralyzed 3- legged kitty who can run like crazy and climb up onto the couch!

  2. Years ago we rescued a cat who had been shot with a bb gun and did not have the use of his hind legs. But he was fast and powerful and really hard to catch. We were hoping surgery could help him, but it was inoperable. It also turned out that he had so many special needs, that we could not keep him. However, at the no kill shelter we ultimately brought him to, one of the vet techs fell in love with him, and had the time and technical expertise to care for him. She and her husband cared for him at home for another 5 years before he died. They found caring for Aidan to be a strong bonding experience for them, and we still stay in touch. We also still contribute to the Tree House in Chicago.

Sometimes I think we should have left Aidan in the alley where he had been doing alright. But most of the time I think we did the right thing. He was a great cat who lived a nearly normal life with a loving family. So, maybe you are right, Sili, but I wouldn’t have the heart for it myself.

PS- Darwin the cat may not be shrill or strident, but he is patronizing and annoying.

      1. I’d rather have shrill and strident and to the point. If a human talked to me like this cat, even if I agree with him, I’d be tempted to smack him.

    1. Darwin Cat would scratch skin if he was about empiricism. Prayer’s observable don’t work.

Being Theo the Cat is, if not patronizing and annoying, stupid. There’s always a theological “answer” for every “question”. Here, the usual answer is that omnipotent gods don’t give away their omnipotence by using it, they have the “power” to refrain and yadaa yadda meow. Nothing we haven’t heard before.

Theology is a game that nobody wins, and that is its sole purpose.

      1. Duh! “Prayer’s observable don’t work” – prayers observably don’t work.

        1. <blockquote.Prayer’s observable don’t work.

I thought you were just using flowery religion-type language. As in ‘choir invisible’ or somesuch. My issue was with your severe case of apostrophitis. 😉
