It’s not in my nature to use this website as a tool for crashing polls, at least those involving religion or politics. And I don’t have anywhere near the minions of P.Z., anyway. But when it comes to cats I have no shame. So I importune you (and let’s see if this works): if you get any joy from this website, go over to Catfight! Round 3, where readers are voting for the internet’s favorite felines, and do the right thing. The wonderful Maru is in serious danger of losing to that Twittering poseur Sockington. Give Maru a boost, plz. You have till midnight (presumably EST) tonight to vote.
kthxbye!
UPDATE! Two hours left, and Maru has narrowed Suckington’s 400+ vote lead to only 40 votes. Maru can win! Come on, folks!
I voted, but as I write this Sockington is leading by quite a bit. 🙁
We get between 9,000 and 12,000 views per day here. Surely we can muster a few hundred votes!
You’d better get the Pharyngulites on it as well. “We lucky few” are too few for Maru.
Maru makes me smile. I just adore that funny little guy. Hopefully, he can get more votes!
Maru is the best kitteh in teh world! Be sure to check out “his” blog, if you haven’t already: http://sisinmaru.blog17.fc2.com/
Jerry, I had already forgotten your recommendation, and anyway, being fiercely independent in my judgment, I guess I would have ignored the advice all the same…But Maru it was, despite the popular vote…:)
I like Maru, but I do wonder about the odd, obssesive behavior. Is that cat normal? Or, uhm, “touched”?
Either way, Maru literally get’s my vote. And so does your catblogging in general. I like the whimsy it adds to your blog.
Sockington looks rather distinguished.
HEY!!!!
I like cats, but I couldn’t eat a whole one.
SHUN! Shun the unbeliever!
I assembled a papercraft version of ceiling cat and pasted it on the ceiling of the office of my last job. If I’m not mistaken, it is watching people in that office to this day. (Not that that would be all that surprising. I only left that office in July.)
Ask you wish, oh master. With a ceiling cat on top and a twist of lemon.
OMG! It’s almost tied!
Maru up by three votes:
Sockington 1823 (50.0%)
Maru 1826 (50.0%)
Maru is winning… and there is still 15 minutes left to vote.
they extended the time one hour because it’s so close… 49.5 to 50.5.
Maru deserves to win because he’s an “all natural” talent…
YAY! Maru won by 23 votes!
But now Maru must face Ceiling Cat Hisself!
🙂
That’s because I prayed really, really hard.
