In their continuing effort to enslave humans, cats made us invent the cat door, or catflap, so they wouldn’t have to wait at the door and meow. Now, a German cat has forced its owner to construct a cat elevator:
This is an evolutionary step forward from the previous, low-tech version that actually required a human operator:
Hot air balloons next?
German engineering, can’t beat it. Too bad we live in a bungalow.
I should make the point that, yes, our cats do run our lives. I try to keep them away from the computer, so they don’t get ideas like this. Thanks a lot, Jerry.
Kittehs try and try two teatch ta humaz ant still daz don noos y catz haz rufz n silingz putd on da bungallowz.
I think the manual lift is just classic, and it demonstrates just who is in charge of so-called “human” civilisation.
So Ceiling Cat sent his only dumb-enough son, Elevator Cat, to earth?
That would explain a lot.
Ha, yes, and Elevator Cat probably has an inferiority complex- daddy will never like him as much as he likes Happy Cat (Jebus.)
Thanks for the info, I wasn’t aware that Happy Cat existed. Sounds like the likeness of the Cheshire Cat, there’s no cat there when you look.
Either that, or he has smoked too much.
Brilliant!
Anyone here seen Rear Window, the Hitchcock film? One of its characters routinely lowers her pet (dog or cat, I can’t remember) in a basket from her apartment window, just like the second video. I thought the idea must have been invented for the film–it just seemed a little unlikely. Now I’m not so sure.
I am so not letting our cats see this. They would demand one immediately. We don’t even have a second floor. They’d want one anyway, just for the fun of it, and for the fun of making us do their bidding.
Somewhat related: You posted a comment on my blog saying that you wanted to put one of my cat pictures on Caturday felid. The answer is yes — but you didn’t give me an email address to contact you, and the contact address on your blog is for your agent and I’d rather not bug your agent about cat blogging. Anyway, the answer is Yes, you can publish the Lydia belly-rub pics. Contact me at greta@gretachristina.com if you need a higher-res photo or something. And thanks for admiring our perfect cat!
