Today’s Jesus and Mo post, called “Cern2,” is a repost from 14 years ago, for the artist is on hols.
At Botany Pond yesterday, I met a woman who, after she found out I taught evolution, told me that evolution was a fiction because it couldn’t explain where everything came from in the first place. Then she asked me if I’d studied the Bible. I told her I actuall read the Bible (how many atheist scientists have done that?), and she said, “No, I mean really studied it.” I told her to read my book Faith Versus Fact and politely made my farewells.
But I digress; here the boys attempt (but fail) to reconcile science and religion.

God told me that she loves atheists the best.
For sure. She wouldn’t want to spend eternity with just a bunch of cringing toadies.
I must confess that I stole that from a black board outside a cafe, but I couldn’t share the photograph on here 😂
In the likely scenario where the Sixth Angel screws up and pours the Vial Of Wrath upon the Tigris, the Battle Of Armageddon fails to commence and the Big Scary Trumpets silently tumble into the South Pacific near Point Nemo.
And are swallowed by a pod of Orcas as the credits roll.
Point Nemo, may I presume, is roughly at 47°9′S 126°43′W?
Good one!
I’ve heard it said you NEVER encourage the brass section…
Whenever a woman proselytizes to me, I just ask them if they are aware of 1Timothy 2-11-12 .
FWIW, from GPT-5.1:
So Paul wasn’t half the misogynist that many think he was. 🙂
I cannot imagine the sense of entitlement that allows a soi-disant Christian to be so bloody rude. No doubt she is telling her friends how she made you retreat in fear from her valiant witnessing.
Well, just in case any of you folks are worried about Armageddon, I can help y’all out as a special courtesy to my friends here at WEIT. The word Armageddon comes from the same root as Megiddo. Which is a place here in Israel, with interesting archeological sites all around. I drive past there every so often. So I promise that if I ever see the armies of Gog and Magog forming up there for the Last Battle, I will try to post about it pretty quickly, so you folks have time to prepare. Buy up all the toilet paper, tuna, and antibiotics, and other stuff you might need, and head down to the basement.
