Today’s strip is an oldie called “idea”, and came with the following note from the author:
There’s an old strip up at J&M, page
It’s Draw Mohammed Day, and I’m away, so here’s an oldie from 2013. Remember: “There is no god, and Mohammed is his prophet.”
Help J&M to keep going by becoming a patron of Jesus & Mo:
or buy a book: – The latest J&M collection of J&M strips, which has a foreword by Jerry Coyne, is available here.
Peace and blessings,
Author J&M
Give the author a few bucks a month or so if you like the strip! Meanwhile, here’s “Idea”.
“Shahada pants,” also called “harem pants“, are baggy trousers once worn by Muslim women, and then became popular for women in the 20th century (these are also M. C. Hammer’s baggy trousers). It’s not clear why Mo is wearing what looks like a Speedo, unless he is going to don shahada pants:

Hmmm … compare :
“… turn the whole thing on its head, and transform it …”
-Mo
And
“With [Hegel, dialectic] is standing on its head. It must be turned right side up again, if you would discover the rational kernel within the mystical shell.”
-Karl Marx
Capital, volume I, 2nd. ed.
Afterword
The magic of Dialectical transformation!

ISTM this quote is a criticism of Hegel’s mystical/magic views. (Which might also be a factor in KM naming his own schtick “dialectical materialism“). Not my field — DKDC;DV.
After considering several potential comments I wanted to make regarding “Draw Mohammed Day” images, the one thought that dominated all others was, “U Can’t Touch This”.
Forget the sharhada undies, Mo’s hairy chest and body fat is a cat face… and not a very happy cat at that.
I looked it up. “Shahada” is Islam’s foundational declaration:
“I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
That’s presumably the Shahada written on Mo’s speedos. Thus: Shahada pants!
In various garbs, in calligraphy often, the Shahada is the flag of Saudi Arabia, the Taliban and ISIS.
It is more common than we think.

I’ll buy that. Since I stopped donating to captured institutions like Planned Parenthood (now poisoning and mutilating autistic and gay kids), and MSF/Docs w/o Borders have become agents of… Hamas.. for the love of cats trapped in ceilings!, etc. there’s been a hole in my philanthropy.
The strip is funny enough, and I support their mission 100%.

I really hope that the author spends some of his/her money on personal security; at least on cameras at his/her residence. I don’t doubt that (s)he is a target, and given the state of the world, anonymity may eventually may not suffice.
I worry about folks like that.
