The latest Jesus and Mo strip, called two, is an apparent update:
This one is updated and re-named, because the world population has increased by more than 2 billion since it was published.
Well, the barmaid is an atheist, so she’d surely lose the argumentum ad populum! On the other hand, I have to laugh when I see people claim that a religion is “true” because it has so many adherents.

There are 2.5 billion Christians. Jesus is God! Not a prophet, at least for now 🙂
If you go back 2000 years, there were millions of people who believed in the Roman pantheon, and a mere handful who believed in Christ. Obviously, paganism was the true religion then, although Christianity has become truer since.
There are still 1.2 billion Hindus who believe in a pantheon of gods. Those gods don’t seem to map very well onto the Greco-Roman ones though.
Even Christianity and Islam are not truly monotheistic as they believe in at least two gods, a good one (God) and a bad one (Satan). Judaism is more truly monotheistic from what I understand. Which is why the ancient Romans considered them “intolerant” – the Jews would not acknowledge the many other gods, only their own.
This reminds me of an unusual comic book series I’ve been reading called “The Department of Truth”. In that world, if enough people believe something, it becomes true. The department’s assignment is to maintain the status quo, where the earth is not flat and America won the cold war. Extraterrestrials aren’t real either. The department has authority to sanction with extreme prejudice, i.e. a license to kill. Kind of interesting.
