We’re out of wildlife photos

As I’ve mentioned, I’m out of readers’ photo contributions.  If you have good photos you want to see posted, please put them together and then send them to me at the end of this coming week or early next week (I’ll be gone most of the week). If you don’t know how to submit photo, there’s a hand guide about how and where to do it on the left sidebar that looks like this:

  1. Could you tell us your preferences about the format and size of photo? Do you prefer jpgs or tiffs? Pixel dimensions? File size? Uncompressed images can run to 100Mb and have more resolution, but for the web this is overkill, so I have always compressed the files I send you. Is that right?

    1. I always send in jpegs, crunched down to where the file size is between 1 – 2.5 MB. I’ve thought that if larger files are sent, WordPress does something so they can’t be embiggened by clicking on them.

    2. In my experience jpegs are best, and I can handle 5 megabyte photos with no problem. Higher rest than that isn’t needed as they show up fine even when enlarged. Lou, your photos have been fine, so just keep doing what you’ve been doing!
