Trump whines in public

November 5, 2020 • 6:16 pm

I’ve just watched Trump’s live “announcement” at the White House. The man looked more rattled than I’ve ever seen him as President. He’s calling out the pollsters for “phony polls” designed to keep Republicans at home—”suppression.”  He called the entire system “corrupt”, though he didn’t specify what “system” he meant. He accused unspecified people involved in the counting of fabricating votes, turning all the mail-in ballots into votes for Biden.

It was all designed to excuse an impending loss. The man is running scared.

After about five minutes of Trump bloviating, the NBC anchors simply cut him off to call out all his lies. I’ve never seen anything like that.  And Facebook has hidden many of his tweets, so you have to uncover them to see the unhinged rants.

In the meantime, Biden is counseling patience, asking for time to count all the ballots and let the democratic process work. It’s quite a contrast.

  1. “It’s quite a contrast” – yup one of them r presidential, and hopefully will soon be president too.

      1. And Trump’s lead in Georgia down to just 3,635 with about 50,000 ballots left to count :o)

  2. The real question is, Tangerine Toddler or Mango Mussolini? Is he just providing excuses for himself to rely on in the future, or is he trying to rally his “stand back and stand by” buddies to stop just standing by? I think the former is a lot more likely, but I wouldn’t be shocked, only appalled, if it’s the latter.

    1. I’ll try again, as my previous comment seems to have gotten lost, perhaps because of the link in it: for “stand back and stand by”, look at Wiley Miller’s “Non Sequitur” comic today – you can find it online through Google on the gocomics website.

    2. Whether it is Tangerine Toddler or Mango Mussolini in terms of his actual intent may be by the by. He is letting ugly genies out of their bottles as are his various consigliare such as Bannon, Donald Jr and others with their intemperate tweets and statements. In the febrile situation that is unfolding it would not surprise me at all if one of the gun-toting conspiracy theorists who comprise a chunk of his support decide to take matters into their own hands.

  3. Oh, it would be so nice to see such a pathetic situation. I hope it will be on Trevor Noah or Stephen Colbert tonite.

I would kind of liked to see President Trump taken out of the White House by soldiers – but I tried to get past that entertaining thought cause it could possibly cause a lot of unnecessary chaos. So here, over the forty-nineth, we wait and hope for the best outcome for everyone.

  4. Reprehensible and appalling. Agent Orange’s efforts to destroy faith in democracy and its institutions now includes incitement to violence from the easily inflamed MAGA crowd. His whining also extended to very loud racist dog whistles in singling out Detroit and Philadelphia as epicentres of corruption.

  5. The very idea of reality stepping into Trump’s view of the world seems to surprise him. His noise indicates he does not even understand how the voting process works. So after months of calling it a fraud of course it has to be a fraud. Bur there is only one fraud in the room.

  6. He’s completely unhinged. But it’s expected, he has been broadcasting his intentions since long before the election after all. I’ve seen a couple of videos supposed to document voter fraud… How f*****g gullible can people be? I hope this mess will not end up with chaos and bloodshed on the streets, but I fear that’s what tRumps endgame looks like.

  7. I felt like sending a letter to the local paper saying that instead of giving lots of column inches to what Trump says and posting a photo of him draped in flags, why don’t they just report “Trump, as usual, lied and whined a lot.”

  8. This despicable human being has to be prosecuted for at least a few of his most heinous crimes. Biden cannot show leniency To this thug in an attempt to “bring the country together” like Obama did with Bush and his crew of crooks. It didn’t work then and won’t now. If the bum walks away clean, I’ll throw up for sure!

  9. It should not have been this close.

Not after his caging and orphaning kiddos.
Not after his selling out so, so many.
Not after four years o’breaking beaucoup laws.
Not after actually mouthing all those lies.
Not after a profound inability … … to speak.
    To brain. To BE intelligent.
Not after 230,000+ of our citizens eradicated.
Not after … … ad infinitum.

It should not have been this close.

    1. And i think that these results should take a monkey off the back of hillary and of jim comey from 2016. Knowing all of what blue said…real data…still almost half of america still voted for this scoundrel…so perhaps it wasn’t hilary’s likeability or where she did not canpaign or comey’s agonized-over decision to announce the follow-up investication. Yes, sadly, i’m afraid its just who we are.

    2. IF you can ( mine* ‘as been a gift ), subscribe

    3. It should not have been this close. The workings of the minds of millions of voters are utterly infathomable if in the face of all you list – ann much much more – they still see this man as a suitable choice for president.

  10. He’s still got a bit of time before he has to leave the White House. I’m afraid to think of what vengeance he might spew.

  11. What a disgraceful performance by a President. It was shameful. And he read those falsehoods from a script. People in the White House actually contributed to these lies. Shame!

      1. I saw a photo that showed he was reading (badly) from prepared typed text. His sharpie annotations were visible too, but relatively slight. This was largely a prepared speech. Disgraceful.

  12. I think there have been not-so-gradual changes in The Donald’s behavior. When he was younger, he must have had a certain amount of cunning to manage the wheeling and dealing of his development business (even if the casinos went bust). And during the Repub primary campaign of 2016, some low cunning was also in evidence. But lately, his utterances have gotten more and more unhinged, The most recent, such as going after Dr. Anthony Fauci, and his latest gibbering about votes and “poles”, are even tactically stupid. My guess is that ordinary senile dementia is setting in under the orange wig. The poles are closing fast on this character.

  13. Remember the Soviet Union, basically everyone had a vote but only one party to vote for. Trump is much more democratic, you can vote for whoever you like but only the votes for him are legal.

  14. Sorry, Jerry, this is premature. I think you may be underestimating the treachery of Trump and his minions. Yesterday Steve Bannon called for Fauci and Wray to be beheaded and their heads placed on pikes outside the White House, as a warning to people who counter Trump’s statements. I am worried about right-wing violence and/or some totally phone Supreme Court ruling. Difficult to know what to do if Trump never concedes he lost the election.
