Wow! Wonderful shots Colin, thanks!
Excellent photos. I love the one of the grebe catching a fish, and am in awe of how much patience it would take to get that shot.
Oh, cracking pictures!
Your photos are always a treat. I especially love the Bonaparte’s Gull. Thanks!
Thanks folks! *If you click on the images, they will display larger, cleaner & sharper.
Amazing and first rate! As is always the case. I especially like the loon.
Fantastic images Colin!
Keep them coming.

The loon and the two grebes have startling red eyes. parallel evolution? Or are loons closely related to grebes?
Great shots. Love the water droplets on the Western Grebe photo.
Beautiful. Great variety.
I always enjoy the readers wildlife photos but Mr. Franks images are of such startlingly high quality that I find myself leaning into my monitor to take in the details of each one. Thank you!
Reblogged this on The Logical Place.

Looks like Eared Grebe has been staring at the screen for too long.
These images are some gorgeous!
I love the picture of the gull. Beautiful.
Fantastic photos!
Wonderful photos, but how do you make them available to PCC(E)? I set out to send ten photos a couple of weeks ago, but my email provider limits attachments to 25 GB, which meant that I would have had to split the submission into five emails: not friendly. My email provider suggests its cloud facility, but its help page about this has been inaccessible for weeks. On top of that, it seems to support only MS and Apple; I use a Linux distribution. Help??
I tend to send one picture per e-mail. PCC(E) seems to put them together OK.
Thanks; since that seems acceptable, then I can go with two photos per emaail.
That photo labeled “Anna’s Hummingbird (Calypte anna)” should have been labeled “Anna’s Hummingbird (Calypte anna) and Helleborus”!! Blatant plant blindness!
Animalia bias at it’s worst! I confess to it myself sometimes.
Beautiful birds!
