1. AH, I forgot. Bigots have rights too. I think this is where we slam the door on rights.

2. I suppose that’s how rights work: the majority consensus defines them within the limits of any constraints defined in a constitution, that constitution itself also being a majority consensus of guidelines and constraints.
   I have a suspicion that ‘bigotry’ is often a symptom emerging when a large lobby, seeing its agenda as a moral absolute, manages, or has managed in the past, to impose its agenda on its opposition.

   1. And it emerges when those moral absolutes get challenged, both from within and outside of the majority. Because moral absolutes like ‘marriage is between a man and a woman’ are not defensible by logic or reason, the only way to return fire is bigotry.

3. It reminds me of Trump’s criticism of “both sides” in defense of white supremacists.

   Of course, there’s a big difference between those who want to deny rights to their fellow citizens for their sexuality and other things they have no control over like their gender, country of birth etc. and those who don’t.
