  3. First or all, I’d say: be happy, not complacent, and be empirical. It took (not sure) 7 years to reach 50,000. I don’t know exactly when you started your website; google didn’t reveal. But you have enough vim and vigor to reach 100,000. I think it gets easier the more subs you have; it’s not exponential, but popularity creates popularity. I for one plan to follow WEIT for as long as WEIT exists and I’m sure the majority of your subscribers will do the same. I doubt you lose many subscribers based on your consistent tone. And again, based on the empirical method, you’ll reach 100k in less time it took to reach 50k. So don’t get complacent, you have a new and even easier goal to make: 100,000. Keep on keeping on PCC(E)! I’m speaking for myself, but I know a multitude has your back.

    1. The fascination with these particular “round” numbers stems from a number base assumed to have been based upon our fingers, and in retrospect it’s not the best choice our ancestors could have made.

      To me, in this age of computers it would seem more natural to shoot for a number such as 65,536, which will be the sixteenth time the number of subscribers has doubled.
