Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus):

Wonderful portraits…!
Very nice. I like the first one, too.
Pacific Wren [Troglodytes pacificus] – first part of the binomial seems rather harsh for a cute little bird. I figured it out though 🙂
The pointy ‘hairstyled’ kingfisher is très chic
I would love to get close-ups like this with my Canon camera!
Add salt to the tail. Works every time. 😉
The belted kingfisher is so cute!
I was going to say, that’s one of the very few kingfisher pics I’ve seen where the bird was actually in focus. Those guys (and gals) must be really hard to capture on “film.”
Fantastic photos. That loon shot is stunning.
All great shots!
The kinglet has the sweetest look…
Wonderful photos. I really admire folks who get great bird photos, as I have tried and failed many times. It takes great photography skill and lots of patience.
And very often a rather long lens.
The lens I have, but I lack patience.
The Golden-crowned Kinglet is probably my favorite here. So cute!
Very good set of pics. The smaller birds, especially the Pacific Wren, Golden-crowned Kinglet and the Bushtit really put a smile on my face.
Beautiful photos is the norm for Colin Franks. So many of the birds (esp. the wee ones) have adorable expressions as they perch, esp. the Golden-crowned Kinglet.
As always, very fine photography. Thanks for sharing.
A bit drab in color but the American Dipper is one of my favorites to observe. They never wander far from the stream or river they live along and have this unusual habit of bobbing up and down when they’re standing. Not sure what’s up with that behavior. It makes them very conspicuous. They also walk underwater looking for food.
Gorgeous photos, thank you so much.
A fine batch to be sure. Thanks…
