I’m off to lecture at Massey University. I’ll be home in five days, and simply have no time to write meaty posts. In the meantime, enjoy this red panda (Ailurus fulgens) reacting to seeing an insect on a rock, contributed by Grania:

Looks like the insect is armed!
I’m thinking the panda had recently finished some good weed?
I think the panda is doing some sort of ‘I am big’ display. Not sure.
Are Red Pandas from Red China?
Red pandas are so adorable, though I think this one might be a sandwich short of a picnic (or whatever is appropriate for red pandas!).
A bam short of a boo?
Mothra!?
2 million years from now upright-walking red pandas will be wondering what drove the evolutionary predisposition for their bipedalism! You saw it first here folks!
