New Years resolutions are usually a good thing. They keep us on track and in line toward our goals.
But, they are often hard to keep for very long.
My resolution was to gratuitously split infinitives at any opportunity. So far, I’ve managed to adequately fulfill it, I think.
(I have a sort of overriding continuing resolution not to recklessly make any resolutions I might have trouble carrying out).

A guy I know has this resolution: “I resolve to live forever . . . so far, so good.”
This comic mysteriously turns out to be a direct reference to a post by James McGrath just yesterday. For some unknown reason McGrath felt it necessary to insult Jerry which led to this connection.

I wonder what McGrath’s issue is. He does not address anything Jerry said, but accuses him of embracing pseudoscholarsip on history. Maybe he is referring to Peter Nothnagle’s mythicism of Jesus post?
Note, McGrath does not address anything Nothnagle says either. He just uses the ‘Credentials Canard’ (and conveniently ignores that Nothnagle bases his article on hiztory experts such as Carrier).
