Since Samantha Cristoforetti (the Official Website Astronaut™) returned from the ISS, we haven’t heard much from her, but at least I can report that today is her 39th birthday, and she got a special cake from a special person:

Looks that way. He’s got 761k thousand Twitter followers and the above cake tweet is on the singer’s page.
(I knew I lived under a rock, but I didn’t know who Ryan Adams was. Now listening to some of his songs. I see he covered the Oasis song “Wonderwall.”)
Could it be that Ryan Adams is not merely “very cool” but “groovy”?
Had I been consulted, I would have recommended against “badass”.
How big would that cake have to be if the orbits were depicted to an accurate scale?

I’m 39, for a few months longer, and wanted to be an astronaut for a while … interesting to see that’s about the age things like that happen.
(I ruled it out after I read what a centrifuge was and I took an airplane for the first time as a ~4 year old.)
