Ivan Kislov, a Russian miner living in Siberia, takes terrific wildlife pictures, specializing in wild foxes, which are Honorary Cats™. Here’s one he just posted on his Facebook page (reproduced with permission):

Here’s the Russian: Снег.  Чукотка 2015г. Translation, please?

  1. “The biological family Canidae is a lineage of carnivorans that includes domestic dogs, wolves, foxes, jackals, coyotes, and many other extant and extinct dog-like mammals. A member of this family is called a canid. The Canidae family is divided into two tribes: the Canini (dogs, wolves, jackals, and some South American “foxes”) and the Vulpini (true foxes).” -Wikipedia

Looks like a dog to me.

    1. Don’t let looks deceive you. While phylogenetically this Honorary Cat may firmly be emplaced in the canine clade, psychophylogenetically they have been admitted to the extended feline clade for a year or more now. Along with squirlz and IIRC hummingbirdz.

  2. Fine looking animal in a winter coat I’m a little out of practice being in that sort of cold.
