Friday: Hili dialogue

It’s Friday, the end of most people’s work week, and it’s also the 201st birthday of Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone, an event I’ll commemorate shortly. It’s overcast in Chicago, with a high of only 55°F (13°C), and that means that the inexorable slide toward winter is coming. Meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Ms. Hili thinks she might want to essay some of the staff’s comestible:

A: Hili, this is our supper.
Hili: A cat also likes to eat and drink well.

    As for Hili–don’t all cats operate under the principle that a meal without cat hair is like a day without sunshine?

    1. And a day without litter is the day we vacuum.

      If I were having fish, the lemon would be fine but probably not the cat’s taste.

  5. I had a cat years ago who considered it a crime against nature to not share pastrami with him. No plate of food was safe from his inspection.

  7. Teach a cat to make lemonade, and he has a lot of work in front of him.

    Teach the staff to make lemonade, and the cat will have a lifetime of free lemonade.

    (My apologies if I get it all wrong regarding “reader Melissa”‘s identity. Perhaps she could be Tom C.’s fiancée and would therefore also belong to Sad Cat’s staff and be entitled to send this picture.)

    1. Wait, I just saw a tweet from My Sad Cat, saying “My cat is sad because @9GAG does not feel the need to credit his photos” (posted 24 hrs ago).
      So 9GAG is to blame, not Melissa.

  9. Happy birthday to Adolphe Sax. I used to play the saxophone before I saw the light and changed to clarinet.
    A couple of years ago at a taiko (drumming) workshop in Japan I met a pleasant young man from Belgium having a gap year in Japan before starting his degree in biochemistry at (I think) the National University of Belgium. He also played saxophone. So I commented that the saxophone was an appropriate choice given the nationality of its inventor. I received a very blank look, so had to explain the origin of the instrument and of its name. (Although I think that Sax was living in France when he invented it).
