Tuesday: Hili dialogue

November 3, 2015 • 5:09 am

Tuesday is the cruellest day, compounded by the fact that I’m due for a haircut. For some reason I’ve never gotten over an aversion to haircuts (or taking taxicabs), as it seems too much like I’m being “serviced” like a royal being. Nevertheless, my hair grows longer. . . .  Meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Hili and Cyrus snuggle on the couch and discuss Big Issues:

Hili: What is your attitude towards humanity?
Cyrus: I love it.
Hili: I’m more choosy.

Hili: Jaki masz stosunek do ludzkości?
Cyrus: Kocham ją.
Hili: Ja jestem bardziej wybredna.

  1. Ha! Do not complain PCCE, for at least you HAVE a full bonce! I have had a monkish patch since my mid 20s 🙁

  2. Considering what we have to pay for a haircut or a Taxi it’s more like a royal screwing. Be sure and leave an appropriately screwed tip.

  3. The reason I have long hair is that I got tired of always getting haircuts. So, I just stopped getting haircuts and let my hair do whatever it wants. Makes life much easier.

    1. I hate sitting there getting the haircut. It always takes a long time. But such is the burden of a female.

      1. Ben, I took the opposite tack years ago, when I went bald on top and got tired of being tonsured. Bought a clipper set and buzzed it all off to 1/8 inch. Takes me five minutes every couple of weeks. No tipping involved.

  4. Hili has no problem being treated like the royal being she is – you should learn from her.

  5. A friend of mine was very anxious about getting shorn. His aversion arose from a fear of being touched. He spent time trying to come up with a design for an automatic hair cutting machine. I suggested to him that it might be possible to make such a device, but I thought the demand for it would be tiny since there are so few people with his sensitivity.
It’s never a problem for me. My wife has always cut my hair.

  6. Since I got out of the Navy in 1999, I get my hair cut about once every 3 or 4 months — usually about the time it get long enough to start sticking out all over the place. My hair’s thick and grows out rather than down. Might be good if I was a rock star or artist but being a Civil Service clerk I don’t want it to get too unruly, although I don’t particularly like getting haircuts either. At least for the last 10 years I’ve been going to a salon run by two women who’ve long since gotten to know me well enough that I don’t have to explain how I want my hair cut.
