We seem to have reached Hump Day quickly, but it will be a rainy day with a high of 54°F (12°C), and PCC(E) is not well rested, having tossed and turned much of the night. It will be a long and exhausting day. But, as Maru says, I do my best. Meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Hili has a unique reason to like the fall (you should have learned by now that “kot” means “cat” in Polish, and “myszy” means “mouse”). Look at her nice plump tail!
Hili: I like autumn.
A: Are you talking about the colour of leaves?
Hili: No, the mice are fatter and tastier.
In Polish:
Hili: Lubię jesień.
Ja: Mówisz o kolorach liści?
Hili: Nie, myszy są tłustsze i smaczniejsze.

Does anyone have that Roman recipe for potted dormouse? I’m sure Hili would appreciate it.
In other news, I’m trying to find the posting instructions for the Black Cat competition ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H … , umm, what is it? A photo gallery?
It will be a “page” on the sidebar as we have over fifty entries by now! But I’ll also link to it from the Caturday Halloween post.
Hopefully you’ll have a pic from PlanetaryKeri and Mindy some time soon. If she’s not too busy steering spacecraft around asteroids.
I too had a poor sleep – very warm & humid in London!
Here is another reason to avoid d*gs & guns!

And the dog was called Trigger! Now I need a new keyboard.
Note that – only one recorded instance of a cat shooting an owner…

I don’t think Hili would ever do that.
I can hear the NRA publicity machine cranking up : “Cats don’t kill people ; gravity kills people!”
Which as an occasional rock and ice climber, I can concur with. Except it’s the acceleration at the bottom that actually does the damage.
Interesting stats. Where I live, and I suspect where most people live, the law does not allow you to have loaded guns in a car. The gun is to be unloaded and in a case or disassembled if it is the type that can be broken down. So it would be very difficult to explain how a dog shot you while in the car. And that goes, with or without the dog.
I slept poorly too; I was so restless, trying to fall asleep after reading, and maybe it was the difficult and sophisticated notes in Sam Harris’s book “Waking Up” that broke my brain. Good book though and I enjoyed it.
Meanwhile, we’re having a mighty deluge of rain and high winds in SW Ontario.
Spoilsport! That was in the pipeline for Saturday. (If PCCE had decided to use it.)
Lovely picture of a beautiful cat. It’s raining here… My cats are not happy.
Do we know how old Hili is? I hope she has a long life ahead of her.
Hili was born June 2012 so she hopefully has a long and happy life in front of her.
Malgorzata, I admire how you and Andrzej helped Hili and Cyrus to form such a beautiful friendship!
They are delightful, aren’t they.
My kot, Winston, brought a myszy up from the basement last night, played with it all over the kitchen & family room (it was already dead, or I’d have intervened right away), and has now misplaced it. *grumble* The last time this happened we found out about it when a horrible smell began to emanate from way under the stove…
Slight correction – “myszy” is plural and means mice. Singular form is “mysz” (pronounced mish).
Would it have killed you to have posted that about two hours earlier?

My Mac mini server that I use for email and calendar and that sort of thing…died after attempting to apply a regular software update. And it’ll be tomorrow before I can do anything about it. So, I’m not going to bother subscribing and may well miss out on all sorts of fascinating discussion in previous threads I’ve subscribed to.
Maybe Hili can sacrifice an extra mysz for me…?
