Monday: Hili dialogue

September 21, 2015 • 6:30 am

This evening I’ll be winging my way to Poland, but posting will be almost normal today as I don’t leave home till about 4 pm.  And tomorrow: my friends in Poland, Hili, and cherry pie! (I will also get to meet Leon in the fur!) Once ensconced in Poland, posting will be relatively normal, though interrupted by a talk at a university and then, on Oct. 12, by a talk and academic visit to Uppsala. Meanwhile in Dobrazyn, Hili is up to her usual mischief, with her fur all bushed out:

A: Hili, what happened?
Hili: Quiet! I’m going to jump on Cyrus.

In Polish:

Ja: Hili, co się stało?
Hili: Cicho, zaraz napadnę na Cyrusa.

  1. Somehow, I don’t think Cyrus will be intimidated by the arched back.

      1. I wish my daughter could have heard that one when she was pre-school. Maybe she’d still enjoy it at 31. I’ll send her the link.

    1. Yes, she did. It is her favorite game: on our walks she runs forward, waits for Cyrus to catch up with her and jumps on him.

      1. Awww, that is so cute!

I love it when cats and dogs play together. My tiger tabby Winston (marked a lot like Hili) and my shelter mutt Phoebe used to play like that. Winston would spring out to tackle Phoebe, the latter would answer with play bows and wagging tail…

But at one month shy of 16, now, Phoebe’s too frail. Winston had to knock her over a few times before he realized that the game was no fun any more. Unfortunately the younger d*g has no interest in playing with felines.
