Wednesday: Hili dialogue

June 3, 2015 • 4:39 am

Tomorrow early (I leave home at 5 a.m.!) I am off to Vancouver for the INR5 meetings, and thence to Toronto to give a book talk for the Centre for Inquiry Canada. I’ll return home June 12, and posting may be light in the interim. But, like Maru, I do my best, and try to report on the Vancouver meeting, which has a great lineup. Meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Hili is sure that there is something instead of nothing.

Hili: I have no doubt.
A: What about?
Hili: That there probably is something here somewhere.

In Polish:
Hili: Nie mam wątpliwości.
Ja: W jakiej sprawie?
Hili: Że tam chyba coś jest.

  1. Hili is not even sure what supplements and potions are. To her, especially during the summer and early Autumn, what she gets in her bowls is a supplement to the healthy diet she gets outside.

    1. “she gets outside”

      Birds, small mammals and insects?
Must be a way to bottle and market that. 😎

  2. Tomorrow early (I leave home at 5 a.m.!)…

But don’t you often leave home that early? You often seem to post from your office before I’m at my desk (Eastern Time).

Have a wonderful trip. Say “Hi” to Larry (Moran)up in Toronto!
I’ve been reading Faith vs. Fact and am loving it so far.

  3. Wish I could be there at INR5!
I hope you have time to visit the spectacular campus of UBC (U. of British Columbia), Dr. Coyne. I could see you teaching there.

  4. Been reading for over a year but haven’t commented before. Thanks for the heads-up. See you at the book signing in Toronto !

  5. I so wish I could go to the event in Toronto, since I live in Ontario. Alas, I won’t be able to attend, which makes me sad because I would love to meet Jerry Coyne.

  6. I hope I’m not breaking Da Roolz, but knowing your love of good noms, when you are in Toronto, you should check out hbar, (859 Queen St. W).

It’s not long opened and the food is amazing. Everything is locally sourced and made fresh on site.

If you speak to the owner, Kate, tell her that the “Scottish Hobbit, John” recommended that you go there… you may even get a discount
