It’s Friday: 6 days from Book Day! What will happen? I’m told some Canadian readers have already received their copy of FvF in the mail and that some Canadian bookstores have jumped the gun and are selling it over the conter. Well, who cares? Meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Hili and Cyrus were both bad, doing their business in or around little Hania’s sandbox. Malgorzata explains:
Andrzej took this picture a moment after he chased Hili from the sandbox which she treated as a very comfortable litter box, and interrupted Cyrus who was busy making the wooden frame of the sandbox thoroughly wet.
*******
Hili: Are you peeing in the sandbox, too?
Cyrus: No, I’m peeing just outside it.
In Polish:Hili: Ty też sikasz do piaskownicy?
Cyrus: Nie, tylko obsikuję ją z wierzchu.
A: I’m sorry, I can’t talk now. The Editor is calling me.

Ah – hence the lid to keep Hili out! 🙁
We have a 25th of June date in the UK… but we get Life’s Greatest Secret: The Story of the Race to Crack the Genetic Code on 11th of June, allegedly, so will be reading the gospel according to Matthew first!
Amazon Germany still tells me 29th of May as delivery date. ‘Tis strange that the UK will get the book later.
That’s one reason my dad built our sandbox on legs, and with a lid; another reason was that Gulf Coast Texas can be a pretty soggy place, and this way the sandbox could be located under the patio cover. Also, my parents are basically hippies, and liked to make sand-cast candles back in the day … you know, to go with the macrame plant holders on the patio.
Cyrus looks guilty and remorseful, like Denver the Labrador retriever after eating the kitty treats. Hili, not so much.
Cyrus has the confused and bashful ears on today!
Hey I didn’t get my book early! That’s what happens when you order the Kindle version – damn efficient machines!! 🙂
Me neither, hardcover. Amazon tells me I must wait till late May to June 1! Why?!
May 19th is the date given to me by Amazon here in the US. Matthew’s book, July 17th…
Cool reflection of Andrzej tickling Hili’s armpit.
Hmmm…my eager anticipation seems unappreciated by WordPress….

Cute cat story alert:

I recognized the cat names “Hil(l)bert” and “Hooper” from a 1951 science fiction short story called Built Down Logically, by Howard Schoenfeld.
