Monday: Hili dialogue

March 9, 2015 • 4:57 am

I think I can announce with certainty that the worst of winter is over now. Temperatures will be above freezing much of the week, and although we may get some precipitation, it will likely be in the form of rain (which, I hope, will wash the grime and salt off my car):

Meanwhile in Dobrzyn, Hili lays down the law to Cyrus (as if he didn’t know it already!):

Hili: Certain rules are obligatory in interspecies co-habitation.
Cyrus: What do you mean?
Hili: Rule No. 1: I’m always right.

P1020364

In Polish:
Hili: We współżyciu międzygatunkowym muszą obowiązywać reguły.
Cyrus: Co masz na myśli?
Hili: Pierwsza reguła, że ja mam zawsze rację.

  1. Yes indeed. I can’t wait for all the snow to melt in order to get a whiff of the beautiful springtime scent … of mud. It smells like promise.

  2. and down here in KCMO, we’re looking at an unseasonably warm 70-72 degrees tomorrow and wednesday. both pleasant and disturbing. but, the birds are singing, the squirrels are humping…again, both pleasant and disturbing.

and since yesterday you got an anti-semitic good morning, I figured I’d give you a semitic one today instead, so..

      1. thank you! (toe-dah?) I have enough trouble figuring out how to put the british monetary symbol into text! If Steve Jobs were alive today, he’d be face-palming the though of morons like me using his products!

  3. It appears that February lost its bid for tenure. It’s uncertain if it will file an appeal.

  4. Spring is here in New Jersey, or, rather, the ice is probably finally gone. I saw a Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) this morning.

    1. first grackles, Quiscalus quiscula yesterday, Turdus migratorius in full effect, and Passer domesticus building a nest in the front porch light! bonjour printemps!

  5. Flew through O’Hare today – lovely blue skies 🙂 And no delay either!
