  1. The grey bag looks like the kind of thing that cats will not resist.
‘I am the master of all that I — ‘scuze, but I must squeeze into this tiny space’!

    1. If you have any sewing skillz, this would be easy to make. 2 circles of stretchy felt or fake fur sewn together, then a circle cut out of the middle of one side.

      1. Great idea! I may even have some felt among all my stores in my sewing room. Thanks! (Kitties say thanks, too, and Poochie says thanks for the entertainment;-)

        1. You’re welcome! Cut the middle circle out first. It’d be easier to sew and turn inside out then. If your sewing room looks anything like mine, there’re tons of fabric to look through!

          1. Yup, a total disaster, with lots of goodies;-) It’s thankfully in the basement so only the select few get/have to see it.

      2. I used to have some really atrocious bright-orange fake tiger fur (more like Tony the Tiger fur) from which I made a previous cat bed. Not sure where it’s migrated to.

  2. Do not like.

Maru seemed quite happy as an only cat, enjoying his box fixation in peace. I didn’t enjoy watching him have to defend his cute hidey hole from the bully cat.

    1. That’s not really what’s happening though, they’re clearly playing. If they didn’t like each other they wouldn’t play together at all.

      1. Yeah, I was wondering if I could knit one and then boil the hell out of it to “felt” it.

  3. That bed must be like a dream come true for Maru!! It’s like a “soft box” he can enter.

  4. Some of Maru’s nicknames include The Circle and His Roundness. The bed is a perfect shape for him!

  5. The little cat licks itself once or twice. I read that cats do this when they are caught between two things to do, so a third, totally different action happens. They don’t mean to do it. There is a technical term which escapes me.

      1. Indeed. Displacement activity. Seen most easily in humans who have to talk in front of an audience.

Nose rubbing, ear tugging, ring twisting, there are many variations. Quite often the person is unaware of it, especially at first. In lecturers it can become a habit that is not easy to overcome.

  6. I love watching those two furballs. I still say Maru looks a bit like Wilford Brimley.

  7. Oh man that is funny! I forgot about cats’ weird pouncy postures. But always remembered that hind legs eviscerating movement. From kittens when I was a kid.

All hail the weird cat bed!
