Merry Xmas from the absent Professor Ceiling Cat, who left these pictures in lieu of a card. I’ll see you in two days or so.

And cats who think that the nativity scene can be improved upon with the addition of something warm and furry.

  1. If one feels the need to worship a deity, the last photo says it best!

The safest and happiest of Holidays to Prof. Ceiling Cat and all the readers of this great site.

  2. I suspect most theologians see atheists as being like the dog in the manger, (who according to Aesop prevented the horse from eating the grain even though it had no use for it itself), when in fact we’re more like a cat in the manger. We don’t really mind too much how they keep themselves going as long as they don’t disturb us.

  3. I don’t particularly care about the traditional Xmas representation of a “star”, but I’ve always held to the opinion that the One True Star is the first (or “small”) stellation of the dodecahedron (animated jaffics interchange file). Other stellations are available, but that’s the most symmetric and laden with golden ratios.

      1. Clicking … very Spirograph-y (Did you meet that as a child’s toy? Various sizes of cogs with pen holes, pretty pictures for the drawing of.)

  4. Felicitations to Prof. Ceiling Cat and
everybody else. Our cats get an extra belly scratch today.

    1. Love it!!

Finally got your video to open. Very cute. Lots of thumping tail ( Labs have the loudest tails!) and clicking nails. Your floor looks in better shape than mine.

  5. As the song lyrics say “O Come let us adore him”, and of course I mean the real live cat and not something that can only be imagined.

  6. RIP Freddie

I am very sad to report that we just got back from putting our sweet 14.5 ya Freddie “to sleep.” He seems to have been going into kidney failure and lost 15% of his weight the last 3 weeks. Such a fine man he was. He will be sorely missed:-((

      1. Thanks, Vierotchka. I’m trying not to second-guess my decision. You feel like you’re “playing god”, even if god doesn’t exist…

    1. Oh no, how sad! So sorry for your loss. At 14.5 he spanned a big chunk of your (& your family’s) life…Good boy, Freddie. Well done.

      1. Thanks, Diane. No way around the sadness…A very good boy he was. He purred and tried to keep us entertained till the very end.

          1. Only the real baddies know it since sometimes they get thrown in jail. The others probably quite enjpy their lives. They don’t have anxiety (small amygdyla) & they rarely get sick. People may drop them as friends or hate them, but they won’t care unless it screws up their plans. They also tend to have an inflated sense of self so they also really like themselves.
