Reader Jon sent me a link to today’s Get Fuzzy comic by Darby Conley (I used to read it daily, but for some reason have stopped), with the note, “Bucky Katt may be reading Deepak Chopra.”

By the way, Wikipedia has a hilarious entry on the comic, in which serious exegesis of a funny subject yields even more humor—like this:
Bucky Katt is Rob’s selfish and cynical Siamese Cat. His ears are nearly always drawn laid back flat on his head, a feline sign of defiance, aggressiveness. The Humane Society found Bucky huddled on a trash can, while the cat was only a few weeks old, in Hackensack, New Jersey, later to be adopted by Rob. While Bucky’s father has never been mentioned, Bucky gave his mother’s maiden name on a credit card application as “Tricky Woo,” a reference to the ludicrously pampered (but in fact good-natured) pet dog of that name in James Herriot’s stories of his experiences as a vet. The Washington Post is (has?) dropping this comic strip. Among the reasons they gave was “repetitive story lines”.
Yup, they kept Mary Worth, Dennis the Menace, Blondie, Rex Morgan, and Peanuts (a strip that is entirely repetitive since the creator is dead).

I actually practice some meditation, no woo involved, just resting the brain for a while. Stop thoughts. It makes me feel good and it helps combat my depression, I think so anyway, it’s possibly placebo effect but with a mental issue that is enough.
All that woo of you have to meditate in a certain position whilst chanting something inane under the wafting smell of a certain incense seems wrongheaded. Being comfortable and in a quiet space helps.

But seriously, THIS is accused of repetitive story lines, while Garfield goes on 30 years of lasagne, spider whacking, Odie kicking, and Jon nerding?

Ooh, yes. At least go back a week or so, to where the arc about Bucky pretending to be a guru started; the whole thing has been most amusing, and I almost sent it to you several times.
I’m thinking that the strip’s author doesn’t have much use for religious types who would try to run other people’s lives.

I think that Satchel is so named because he is about as perceptive as a suitcase.
