  1. It’s a poorly understood fact of feline physics and psychology that, the more seemingly uncomfortable the position of the cat, the happier the cat is.

      1. Yes, true.

Though you can sometimes maintain a mutually-agreeable balance by slinging the cat across your shoulders. It’s not quite as good for the cat as being the center of attention with bellyrubs and all, and your shoulders and the shoulders of whatever you’re wearing will get torn up a bit…but at least you can still get stuff done and the cat still gets to be in the thick of things.

  2. Evidence that Cats are Human…

    • Cats seem generally to know if their owner has hurt them (treading on tail!) by accident or by design.
    • Cats are clearly angered by too much attention to another cat.
    • When a cat does something bad such as to claw its owner, it may run and hide, but after an hour the cat may surmise that the owner has forgotten the incident, even though the cat might still wince at an innocuously raised hand. The cat is making an asessment upon its owner’s ‘State of Knowing’, or ‘State of Remembering’
    • Cats suffer terrible embarrassment. If, in leaping from a high cabinet to a high shelf, it falls into a waste paper bin which rolls acrss the floor, the cat will emerge with intense cleaning procedures, often called ‘Reaction Formation’
    • Cats do intense greeting with its owner after being separated for a time.
    • Cats, when playing are able to retract their claws, but when the play gets rough, the are able to reveal their claws little by little. Cats play with their owner in such things as chasing a finger protruding from a hole, but the cat is able to withdraw its claws most of the time for the purposes of the game.

    1. I think that is called a feline-satiable truth. Popper was misled in naming his ideas.

Also, it makes you wonder why there is a perceived need for a Ceiling Cat. Clearly Comfortable Cat can fit any gap!

      1. But what could possibly be more uncomfortable than hanging umop-apisdn from the ceiling? Thus, Ceiling Cat is demonstrated to be both the must uncomfortable of all cats, and therefore the ultimately comfortable of cats whilst simultaneously occupying the impossible gap.

        QED and all that jazz….
