If you go to Choice in Dying, you’ll see this:
I’m sad to see it go. Eric’s site has had an erratic time lately—first he went to Freethought Blogs, but quickly returned to a self-hosted site. And, as I recall, he deep-sixed the site once before, but then resumed it.
Eric and I have had some differences lately, especially over “ways of knowing,” but I always saw our areas of agreement as more substantial. He was scathingly accurate on the dangers of religion, and of course right on the money about assisted suicide. In the end, I’ll miss him and his wisdom, and I wish him the best.

“Ditto.”
Don’t be a stranger, (ex-)Uncle Eric.

Like I said before… Eric will always be my cousin.
At least he ended it by choice.
Hmm… :-/
I wonder, what’s the significance of the headline being in German?

Oh, and all the past posts have disappeared!

Now that’s a shame!
There’s the Wayback Machine, although it seems to have made its last update on October 15, which means the last few articles and discussions have been left out.
But sadly the setup with short introductions on the home page and jumps to the full article and responses seem to have been missed by the crawler. So there really isn’t much left 🙁
I’ve always loved he Wayback Machine, but seems to me we’ve needed an updated version for a while.
I’m sad to see the site go dormant, or dark.
I remember the excellent posts by Eric here at WEIT, and being disappointed that the amazing poster didn’t have a blog. And then he did! Yea.
A bright star burns hot, then burns out.
Hmmmm, what does that say about Jerry?
I’ve really enjoyed Eric’s posts over the last few years and I will his humanity and wisdom. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to keep a blog/website going year in and year out.
Best of luck Eric and thanks for the memories.
Cheers
Is he writing a book? I hope he’s writing a book.
Thanks for all that you have done and still do, Eric. (BTW, I have made sure to re-up my registration with Oregon’s “Death With Dignity National Center”. I’ve had to scale my donations WAY back of late, but this group still makes the cut.
I kind of hope he’ll turn into the Brett Favre of blogging and un-retire at least two more times (once in New York and once in Minnesota) before he finally retires for real.
Oh, no!!
As a Wiscinsinite, I object! Eric has much more integrity!
