Hili caught a mole, but it was released unharmed by Andrzej. Hili is being disingenuous when asking to be shown the mole she already caught, for she wanted to nom it.
Hili: What is this?A: A mole.Hili: Why didn’t you show it to me? I like observing moles.A: But it was very hungry and wanted to return underground quickly.
In Polish:
Hili: Co to jest?
Ja: Kret.
Hili: Dlaczego mi go nie pokazałeś? Przecież ja bardzo lubię patrzeć na krety.
Ja: Bo był bardzo głodny i chciał szybko wrócić pod ziemię.

Underground is a very funny place for a mammal to live. I wonder how she found it?
They do come up onto the surface. In fact moles are good swimmers. Possibly it was near the surface though…
Really? They can swim, I had no idea! We don’t have them down here, though there is a marsupial variant, it’s not common.
Cats catch moles but don’t eat moles. Just at they catch shrews but don’t eat them. Earthworm eating animals must taste very bad.
My cats left moles around, like shrews, and the one time I saw one of the cats start eating a mole (head first), the cat threw up.
I wonder if she would really have eaten it. My cat loves to hunt and kill moles, but apparently doesn’t like the taste, because she won’t eat a bite of one. She eats rabbits–without even leaving a drop if blood or a single hair, but won’t touch moles.
It’s a damned good thing she only caught one single mole, as opposed to a mole of moles.
Cheers,
b&
Love it!
I’ve gotta find a few hours/weeks to spend at Randall’s What If section…
Hili, come to my house. I have lots of moles and voles for you. It’s roughly 4000 miles due west. And yes, you’ll need to swim a goodly distance on the way. You’ll recognize my place by all the apple trees; moles and voles LOVE orchards.
