Why Evolution is True is a blog written by Jerry Coyne, centered on evolution and biology but also dealing with diverse topics like politics, culture, and cats.
I’ve never noticed any of my cats to have any concern about whether they might be disturbing me, Hili is obviously a particularly considerate feline.
This is what cats like to do: sitting on people.
Lovely!
I swear, the only thing keeping me from flying apart under pressure has been Butter (Anonypuss) and his constant affections. His personality has been changing from year to year (much like an autistic child) with his latest antics being an uncontrollable desire to “clean” me. (sneaks up behind and licks my hair into a vertical “do”. And for some reason unbeknownst to me, I let him.)
Not quite true… this place also helps keep me sane. Good luck with the progress, Dr. Jerry.

BTW, “Dr.” in this case is a term of endearment (much like “Uncle”) that my peer group indulges in, whether or not the degree has been officially conferred. The correct form is a distinctly enunciated “DOCTOR” (so clearly as to make it sound like an expletive), followed by the first name of the person being addressed. I just thought I should warn you.
You get a Kat-man-do! Hee hee…
Your posts from Poland describe the archetype of an idyll. If that were a bed and breakfast within my normal vacation range, I’d be booked there right now.
No wonder Hili is constantly growing in wisdom! She is always surround by scholars and philosophers.
No wonder the scholars and philosophers have found wisdom.
They are surrounded by Hili. L
I think that is a caticular definition.
But it works for me.
No wonder crazy cat ladies are outcasts. They become savants over time. 🙂
Come to think of it, among the many cat people that I know (those with more than four cats), there is a disproportionately high number of atheists with advanced science degrees. All that purring must have positive effects on the human brain!
My Hili look-a-like cat doesn’t do that. Lying on people, I mean. At most she lies beside you. She kept a bit of the nature of the adopted wild kitten. Very, very slowly she lost her fear of people. She still doesn’t like to be taken up. It’s always under soft protest.
Cats lying on people? Of course. People are just heated memory foam mattresses with a massage function.
Tangentially, why does Polish always look like it needs a few more vowels? Serbian as well, from my very limited observation.
OTOH…. their food looks wonderful.

You may be on to something. 🙂
