True facts about owls

July 25, 2013 • 9:01 am

Several readers reported that zefrank1 has posted another great animal video, this one a bit lighter on the weirdness but heavy on great clips and True Facts.  Actually, we (Kelly Williams and I) were asked to provide a photo for this video—the one showing the owl’s eyes visualized through its ear holes—but we were too late to get our picture in.

Regardless, enjoy this 4:21 tour through Owl World.

    1. Yeah. I once came across a nice well made leather bound edition of Grimms’ Fairy Tales for a good price and thought, “hey, this will be great for story time with the kids.” I new the basics of many of the tales, but had never read the original tales myself. In retrospect I shouldn’t have been surprised considering the era that they originated from, but I was.

After starting to read story after story and stopping because they seemed too twisted, deviant and just not the kind of thing to expose impressionable four year old minds to, I gave up on it. Now that they are a little bit older, and more grounded, they can read them themselves if they want to.

      1. Those tales were originally not intended for children. Many were performed at courts for adults & can be somewhat raunchy as well.
