I saw Santa!

And it was in the Detroit airport. Taking a well-deserved summer break from the Arctic, Santa was clearly heading for warmer weather.  Practically everything he was wearing was red, and he was even reading a red book and toting a red suitcase. Don’t tell me he’s not playing up the image.

He was also wearing a “USMC” (U.S. Marine Corps) tee shirt, so Santa is clearly one of the few and the proud.

I restrained myself from sitting in his proffered lap, though I wanted to ask him to let me pet a baby tiger for Christmas.

    1. Maybe he’s decided to give up santa-ing and instead take up christianity. The book is the short coarse to get up to speed.

  1. “For centuries, treasure hunters have been eager to possess the stones, undeterred by their corrupting nature. The list is long — Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Napoleon, to name a few. Now the Stones have found their way to Salem, Massachusetts, and so has Jerry Coyne, adding himself to this rogues’ gallery of power seekers. He’s an uncommonly dangerous man, with a hunger for the forbidden, and a set of abilities that are way beyond ordinary. Abilities that he feels entitle him to possess anything he might desire.”

  2. Wouldda thought Ann Arbor was driving distance, but if you had, we would still think there is no Sanity Clause.

  3. another sighting clue for the mature Jarhead, Eagleusclobusanchorus, is they tend to be seen driving white pickups or sedans. i attended my father’s Marine Tankers Assoc reunion and my white F150 was indistinguishable in the parking lot along with all the Marine Corps Gold stickers on the back window
