Just to start the day off with a “gee” and a smile. First, a photo of some famous bits of Earth taken from the International Space Station by Commander Chris Hadfield, who’s given us many nice pictures. Before you click on the link, let’s see how good you are: guess where this is:
And a meme (perhaps Photoshopped, but still funny), from weknowmemes.com:
Oh, and go have a look at the video, on the Weather Network, of three owlets trying to hang on in a 70 kph wind.

I always preferred this version with a Pallas cat, tbh…

Galapagos Archipelago.
The big one looks like the Isabella seahorse.
I’m now following Cmdr. Hadfield on Twitter, love his photos.
Yes, the Galapagos, without a doubt.
You just enlarged it & saw the tortoises!
That and quite a bit of time spent on Google Earth with my 2-year-old looking at the Galapagos and Madagascar while searching for wildlife pictures. He really, really likes iguanas and lemurs… If nothing else, he is now able to point out both places on any world map (and Japan, because of an obsession of his with sushi, but that is another story).
Indeed, no one with any sense could dislike lemurs. I’m surprised they don’t show up here more often – they can be quite cat-like.
Galapagos…
As just commented there, in 1929 PA Gov Gifford Pinchot visited the Galapagos (after his first term, before his second, discontinuous, term). I wish PA had a Gov like that now.
Call me a pedant (“PEDANT!”) but I would have pencilled in an apostrope before “cause”! 😉
Errrrr…
“apostrophe”.
Galapagos – and no, I didn’t cheat: I can recognise the shape of Isabela anywhere.
Galapagos
Methinks it is very like a weasel.
Didn’t know where it was, but I should have guessed it…
Galapagos was my guess solely from knowing the bl… site owner. But I chickened out and checked with Google Maps before posting. (O.o)
