Oy vey!
The question on my mind is: How many pairs of boots do you actually own?
About 120, according to the recent ostrich-leather boot post.
/@
Enough for a centipede!
2 centipedes!
6, even.
/@
Can we call him “Imelda”?
Enough for some millipedes!
/@
And these are boots for people, no? So, I suppose such a creature would have to be a “human centipede”, no?
…and is it more or fewer than Imelda had stashed away? I just bet she had ostrich, too.
I’ve always been a bit leery of folks who don’t collect, or want to collect, something.
I collect antique medicine bottles. I just love the smell of old glass in the morning!
A new colleague once told me, โI collect Japanese swords.โย
โOh, how many do you have?โย I asked.
โOne.โ
Hmmโฆ
Well I suppose all collections have to start somewhereโฆย

My skull collection is growing – slowly. I started with a sheep when I was about 10… Very jealous of a friend who came back from Morrocco with a camel skull! My most recent ones were puffin & porpoise.
Oh sooooo cool! I am jealous. I started a smallish comparative collection years ago, whole skeletons, even before I started out as an archaeology student. Mine never got farther than small farm animals and the occasional dead forest critter I found. I would prepare the skeletons myself, an unusual hobby for a 15-year-old, I have to admit.
I collect scalps. You collect skulls. Maybe we should co-ordinate efforts? (Suddenly WEIT begins to feel like Facebook.)
Scalps? Skulls?
Meh.
Come to my place, and you can sample my chianti collection….
Cheers,

oops try again:
….tries to tiptoe backwards quietly as to not be noticed….
Did Ben say they were fine chiantis?

The nice thing about skulls is that everybody starts with one….
Japanese swords can be fabulously expensive–so expensive, in fact, that owning even one is notable.
When collecting Japanese swords, the question is not “how many?”, the question is “where?” โ even one can be more than enough.
Will you reprimand RD for calling your site a “bl*g”?
I have wondered how many pairs of boots you have?
See #3.
That is brilliant! See what you’re missing on Twitter! ๐
Were jac to Tweet, it would be at the expense of this website, so I’m glad he doesn’t.
You don’t know that…maybe Jerry could give up other things like friends and family ๐ Besides, he won’t see my humorous reply tweet to Richard Dawkins.
How about a pair of custom boots with stitching of a cat on one and a cheeseburger on the other? Or maybe a cat EATING a cheeseburger!
A hawk’s nest in a boot with a kitten in it at a good deli?
Ahem: WEBSITE not “b-word”. ๐
As a subscriber to this site, I find it pleasing to have my choice validated by one of my greatest heroes.
