Catheist tee-shirt

Sorry—I posted this comment out of order this morning; these things happen. Please repost any comments you made then, if you wish (there were only three).

A kindly and humorous reader made several tee-shirts like this for his family, and sent me one as well. I’m quite grateful for the gift, though it causes me a bit of cognitive dissonance: while mimicking the atheist billboards, it also disses my alter ego Ceiling Cat.

    1. Man, that’s a cryptic message. Are you commenting on his thinning hair? Or did you have a totally innocuous meaning and I just embarrass myself with my own projection? 😛

      Either way, this gives me an excuse to say that, the shirt aside, it’s a nice picture. I hope I look that happy and youthful when I’m in my 60s. 🙂

        1. Maybe, but I suspect it was just meant as lighthearted teasing. Luckily, ceiling cat has the grace to refrain from sending a pair of lions to maul 42 old rhymer timers in response. 🙂

What makes you think that Basement Cat hasn’t sent black panthers (wearing false lions teeth, to correct the forensic evidence) to pursue you and maul you when you no longer anticipate it. Ceiling Cat may work in straight forward ways to achieve un-obvious ends, but the routes taken by Basement Cat are twisty little passages, all alike.

  3. I want to know if there’s some rough consensus on the “right” way to misspell words in catspeak (LOLspeak? What’s that called?), or if you can just make it up however you like. 🙂

    1. Standardized LOLspeak? Does the expression “like herding cats” mean anything to you?

    2. We’ve been there with the bus campaign. “Probably” is good. They find it a lot harder to argue against “probably”.

      So are you an Aceilingcatism 6? Where is you prooof? (I’ve looked in the roof.)

  6. Will a special version of the T-shirt be made available for U.S. residents? It would be exactly the same as the one Jerry has on, except the last sentence would be omitted (in deference to the massive government surveillance expansion going on here).

  7. I’ve had a pawline conversion and now I reject the false noodly god and all his appendages. I shall henceforth devote my life to spreading the good news of Ceiling Cat.
