I keep reminding people of this, but they keep forgetting: if you are commenting on a post that has pictures or graphics, do not leave your comment on the picture page! (That’s the page you go to when you click on a picture to enlarge it.) If you do that, almost no one is going to read your comment.
Look, for example, at the picture page for my post on “The outsider test for faith.” There are 15 comments there, few of which will be seen by most readers.
If you do make this mistake, feel free to re-post your comment on the main page.
It’s a secret club, and you’re not invited! Nyah!
Can you change it so when you click on the picture, it functions as “view image” and is viewed by itself in a separate tap/window? That’s what I usually end up doing as the pictures get blocked by the text on the side, plus no one could comment on the image only.
For example, clicking the map picture sends you directly to http://whyevolutionistrue.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/screen-shot-2012-05-01-at-6-46-18-pm.png
whoops thought this first post was lost 😛
Can you change how clicking pictures work by sending you directly to the image only location, to function as the ‘view image’ option? It’s what I normally do when I click the picture, because the text on the right side obscures the photos.
For example, when you first click the map picture, it sends you directly to http://whyevolutionistrue.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/screen-shot-2012-05-01-at-6-46-18-pm.png
I’m not an expert though and can’t comment on whether this is possible in wordpress.
Yes, that is the usual way to do it. Slightly better is to have the link open in a new window, so that the reader has the larger image available in one window to refer to as they read the post in another.
Yeah, don’t you just love it when windows pop up all over your desktop 🙁 I think there is a way to do it for yourself if you really like it.
The growing number of readers at your website makes it very likely you’ll be posting these types of reminders for years to come.
I’m glad you pointed this out, I went over and one of the comments pointed out that the map shows that Antarctica is predominately Jewish. I didn’t know this, you learn something new everyday.
Of course, when you consider that the original Jews were a desert people and Antarctica is one of the largest deserts on the planet, it makes sense.
That’s because it is populated largely with scientists who are predominantly Jewish. 😉
Isn’t this just a form of natural selection? If someone posts where it can’t be seen, then it doesn’t contribute to the read pool. I say let nature take its course.
Is their mating going on here? I’m missing out on all the action.
(John Candy voice.) Remember how you kept reminding people of this? That was amazing, right? if you are commenting on a post that has pictures or graphics, do not leave your comment on the picture page! I was, like, Whoa.
This just goes to prove that every picture tells a story….
