We were lately in Thailand and feeding the fish in the moat in Chiang Mai. There’s pigeons there and they want to get fed too. They’ve come up with a technique that’s interesting: as you pull out some fish food from the bag a pigeon flies up toward your face causing you to startle and usually drop some food. Very sneaky. They do it enough (and always in our experience just one bird doing it while the others wait on the ground) that it’s clear it’s deliberate.
Notice how they sit back and watch once they’re done? I think it’s deliberate.
