… which is why giraffes have the same number of segments in their neck as we do.
That verse has quite the kick in it.
Btw, if a math limerick converge to constitute a “limesrick”, would a biology diverge to constitute a “clinesrick”?
I thought you once promised us about ‘Doc Fodor’: “We’ll hear no more about him on this website”
😉
I think the last line would have an improved cadence if it were
“And that’s why the thing’s so damn tall!”
Ever a critic. 😀
There once was a blog named “Why
Evolution Is True” written by
a fellow named Jerry
Coyne who wouldn’t marry
the truth with ineffable lie.
There once was a doctor named Jerry,
Who said, “evolution’s not dreary.
It works for the gnu,
Kittehs and us, too.
To think otherwise is quite scary.”
Still working on a better rhyming word than “dreary”.
A science writer I’d join
Announced “The truth is now moyne,
Evolutionary cash
Is the truth and no trash,
I pay in legitimate Coyne.”
That’s great! I want to join in…
Several species of butterfly
Look the same to the untrained eye
We know what it must be
The answer is mimicry
But to Fodor this just doesn’t fly
Darwinism has gone on too long
Natural selection is wrong
It’s not either / or
So no selection-for
Useless traits are just carried along
Said a Fodor: “selection is bunk
Since its very conception it’s stunk.”
Said a beast: “Well, dear me!
I suppose that might be
But then who the hell made me a skunk?”
Hmmm, my comment got swallowed. Anyway, here is my take on the giraffe, and how it PROVES (caps intentional) Intelligent Design: http://answersingenes.blogspot.com/2010/09/irrefutable-proof-of-intelligent-design.html
