Caturday felids: two for one!

March 20, 2009 • 11:45 pm

We’ll start off today with a video of Ugly Bat Boy (aka “Uggs”), a cat resident in a veterinary hospital in New Hampshire.  He is obviously a genetic mutant, since there was another kitten in the litter having the same bizarre appearance. I think he’s cute! (Also see the article and video about Uggs here.)

For more comic relief, I present Captain Pugwash, the famous “Broccoli Kitten”!:

Do black-and-white cats have a predilection for broccoli? Here’s another.

  1. It would be cool if the first cat was taken in by a breeder and selected into a new breed of ugly-bat mane cat.
Also, I think I’m going to test my black and white cat with broccoli next time I have some around…

  2. Anyone know why so many black & whites have the ubiquitous “bat mask” on their face? I have one. There was a feral one that used to hang around and got killed by a car about a year ago. I honestly wasn’t sure for a while if it was my “LaFonda” or the feral! I have a 365 day cats calendar. there are probably a dozen black & whites, all with the mask. Is it from selective breeding? Because it is cute! I’ll do the broccoli test and report back.
