Why Evolution is True is a blog written by Jerry Coyne, centered on evolution and biology but also dealing with diverse topics like politics, culture, and cats.
I address this issue with students and send them to the Humanist Manifesto I, II and III. These documents suggest that humans can discern and formulate a code of ethics without religion. I heard one late night radio preacher explain that with evolution, god could not have given man purpose and without purpose how can we know what we should do? He went on to say that humanists embrace evolution and they also control the colleges and universities, therefore people should not go to college. Pretty good way to maintain the “fear factor”.
